1962 traten die Beatles in vier von der BBC produzierten Sendungen auf. Von diesen Sendungen sind drei zumindest in Teilen erhalten geblieben. Leider handelt es sich dabei zum großen Teil nicht um Archivmaterial der BBC, da die Bänder aus lizenzrechtlichen und Platzgründen gelöscht wurden. Die Aufnahmen, die es gibt stammen zum größten Teil aus privaten Archiven, von Fans, die damals die Sendungen mitgeschnitten haben. Gerade diese ersten Aufnahmen haben ein mittelmässige Qualität, sind aber durchaus noch hörbar.

1963 traten die Beatles in 39 von der BBC produzierten Sendungen auf. Von diesen Sendungen ist die größte Teil erhalten geblieben. Wie auch bei den Aufnahmen von 1963 handelt es sich in der Hauptsache nicht um Archivmaterial der BBC, da die BBC die Bänder aus lizenzrechtlichen und Platzgründen gelöscht hat. Die Aufnahmen, die es gibt stammen zum größten Teil aus privaten Archiven, von Fans, die damals die Sendungen mitgeschnitten haben. Die erhaltenen Aufnahmen haben durchweg eine Qualität, die denen der damaligen Möglichkeiten der Fans entsprachen. Sie waren so gut, dass Apple im Jahr 1994 quasi eine „Best-Of…“ Doppel CD veröffentlichte und dabei hauptsächlich die Songs veröffentlichte, die von den Beatles nicht für die eigenen Alben aufgenommen wurden. Durch die Veröffentlichung von „Live At The BBC„, „On Air…Live At The BBC Vol. 2“ und „The 1963 Bootleg Recordings“ hat Apple von den Aufnahmen aus dem Jahr 1963 einen Großteil veröffentlicht. Den Rest gibt es auf Bootleg.
